Peng completed his doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh in 2015. His graduate work focused on the rational design of polymer and lipid based nanomaterials for effective tumor-targeted delivery. He worked on several cohesive projects to gain insight into the molecular basis of carrier-drug interactions, and to develop effective strategies to improve the compatibility of polymer based nanomicelles with payload therapeutics for efficient in vivo delivery and enhanced anti-cancer activity. He also developed different types of lipid vectors for targeted delivery of both small molecule agents and macromolecules. In the lab, his work will focus on the nanotherapeutic approaches for enhanced brain tumor treatment.
