Jacob Young is a current medical student at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.  He completed his undergraduate studies at Duke University in 2012 and received a degree in Neuroscience. He has previously focused on research projects involving neural imaging using fMRI and PET. After spending a year at Vanderbilt University studying how individual differences in the dopamine system influence decision making and impulsivity, his current work with Dr. Julius Kim focuses on the use of genetically modified adenoviruses to treat brain cancer. Jacob aims to pursue a career in academic medicine that will allow him to combine scientific investigation, teaching, and community service with clinical practice.
